FEATURED PROJECT
LEADCOR
Leadership development for occupational stress reduction in correctional settings
LEADCOR aims to reduce occupational stress through leadership development in the prison context
The initiative also seeks to increase the staff’s leadership skills, with a view to promoting a safe and unprejudiced learning environment.
In addition, LEADCOR contributes to mitigate tensions between key stakeholders (management and staff, within the prison staff, between staff and their families, and between staff and prison inmates) by reducing stress.
In turn, these goals allow considerable savings in prison staff budgets, by reducing absenteeism, sick leave and early retirement. At the same time, it improves the quality of work with inmates and, ultimately, increases opportunities for rehabilitation and social reintegration of offenders.
